Delegates are formed into four different categories: Academics, Debate, Athletics and Social
As an academic delegate, you are in teams of three where you will analyze a complex business case study. You present your findings and professional recommendations to a panel of industry judges. Below are the ten academic disciplines in JDC West:
• Business Strategy
• Business Technology
• Human Resources
• International Business
• Operations Management
As a team of four, debate delegates compete against other schools in a parliamentary-style battle of rhetoric. In a head-to-head style battle, they discuss the most contentious social issues of our day.
The athletics team consists of eight students who compete in two very unique sports. The sports hosted changes every year, but this year’s sports have yet to be released. However, no matter which sport they are competing in, the students have a high-level of athleticism, maintain a high standard of physical fitness, and are natural born competitors.
Social delegate (Sochies) are the hype team of each school. As a team of four students, you are the core of the remarkable JDC West culture. Their tasks in the competition include solving riddles, mind-games, puzzles, and fitness challenges. Their mind, body, and will power are tested with a series of out-of-the-box challenges.
